Finished the novel by most upcoming writer and bestseller Chetan Bhagat's Half Girlfriend.Thought i should post a review on this book.
The books main hero is the story and the situations created by the author and its a tremendous writing example one can really want to see.
The story starts with a boy lived in the small village of Bihar called Dumraon and he struggles a lot with the English. In fact later it was revealed that the boy actually belongs to a dynasty of Jha family and was a actual prince.
Anyways the boy gets admission into Stephen's college in Delhi through sports quota as he was able to show his skills in the game of Basketball in spite of his very bad interview with the faculties.
On that court he saw a very beautiful tall amazing kind of girl,he later described playing basketball with some team and struggling alone from her team.She eventually come to take the ball from the Jha boy and the story starts.
She was a rich girl from Delhi high colony and could not fall for a boy lived in a poor and backward state of India but the game of basketball made the situation very attractive towards the story.Both started to spent so much time together and the boy was a little shabby and cocky and made his move towards a romantic relationship with the girl.The girl hesitates for this condition but the boy pushed so hard and then the girl utters a word that she can be his "HALF-GIRLFRIEND". And that is how the title of the book can be stated. That is the only thing we can assume through the title.After that the boy pushed so hard to get physical with this girl and mummers some insignificant and poor word from local language that strikes the girl very hard and the girl leaves the boy.
Girl leaves the college in between the semester and boy happen to know that she was getting married with one of his old Rakhi Brother and that is weird.She gives invitation card to the boy and expects to come to the wedding but the Jha boy didn't really care for that.

Meanwhile boy got the job from campus in very good bank at Delhi it self but refused to do so because he was frustrated and wanted to go back to his hometown where he helps to run a rural school in Dumraon alone with his mother.The description of the rural school was as similar as any of the Indian rural school facing in this time.
The story takes a huge turn when the worlds richest man BILL GATES was about to come for the visit in India for various funding and rural activities.The boy was running the school very well and thus he was contacted by one of the crew members from the tour of Bill gates Samantha.The boy was told that he need to prepare a high class speech to attract the Bill gates foundation to get some fund to the school development and rural help.
The boy was not sure if he can give a speech in fluent English that he was struggling with the language despite of he had attended one of the best English college in Delhi.He happen to take the English classes in Patna which was 3 hours far from his village.The boy met to the crew member in a hotel in Patna.The girl after one and a half year and divorced happen to work in Patna in some company and happen to checking in to the same hotel and took attention from the boy who was sitting in the lobby.The boy met this girl after one and a half year and story again starts with feelings in it.
Boy describes the situation about funding and all and as usual the girl did not come up with too much of herself as she was very shy about her family and life.She helps to get it done with the speech and spends time with the boy.She did not give any ideas that she was available or vulnerable but the boy still pushes in a mature way.
Bill gates arrived.Boy gives a great speech and creates a miracle in terms of the rural development. The girl again leaves the boy with a single later confessed that she really loves him and does explain a fake illness death in upcoming three months.
Boy gave the all story and generals of the girls without reading to who ? Guess? Chetan Bhagat himself.Very good.
Chetan Bhagat reads all the generals of this girl and explain that the girl is not dead but went somewhere very strange place in the world that no one can find her.Boy could not believe it but hopes that someday he will find her.
Boy gets three months internship at New-York as he had contacts with the foundation members.He moves to the city and happen to live with his college friend with one and only agenda of finding this girl.His friend suggests to move on one side and praises his chase on the other side.
Before the ending of the third month and a great chase of the two months, the boy finally happen to find the love of his life, on a live event singing a beautiful song.She sees him and stares for a minute and starts crying.And one can hope for a Happy Ending for this novel.
After three years the Jha boy invites the Author himself to open a new venture of basketball court at the rural school in Dumraon. Mother of the boy accepted the girl and was happy to have a grandson. So in the end ALL is WELL.
